The land

Arcadia Elevage is a thoroughbred stud farm set over 86 acres of land at the heart of Normandy. For 40 years up to the acquisition of the farm in 2019, it had been used to raise cattle organically. It has since been fully transformed to accommodate horses. Regular rotations with cattle, periods of rest and amendments are carefully conducted to ensure the quality of the soil and grass.

Infrastructures

The buildings include a newly built barn for which special attention was given to the light and ventilation, large outside stalls and a five-box foaling unit fully equipped with cameras. Investments were made to equip the farm with all the necessary tools allowing to conduct a quality sale preparation. They include a walker, a wide lunging ring and a 400 meter woodchip track allowing to hand walk the yearlings.

About us

Arcadia Elevage was started by Antoine Bellanger, a native of the Maine-et-Loire area who grew up in a family of National Hunt breeders and developed a passion for horses early on. He completed his formative years with renowned French breeder Patrick Boiteau, before spending three years abroad with Derrinstown Stud in Ireland and Lane’s End Stud Farm in the USA. Upon his return to France in 2008, he joined the Ecurie des Monceaux as yearling manager and saw the stud farm become a leading breeder and vendor on the international stage. Antoine Bellanger, whose partner Aline Giraud is also actively involved in the racing industry, embarked on a new challenge in 2019 and set on to offer his services in this newly built structure.
